Schumer Urges Leader McConnell to Put Murray-Alexander Deal on the Floor

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer today released the following statement urging Leader McConnell to bring the bipartisan healthcare deal reached by Senators Patty Murray and Lamar Alexander to the Senate floor:

“I want to thank Senators Murray and Alexander for their hard work, and unwavering commitment to bipartisan solutions when it comes to health care.

“Now that a number of Republican Senators have come forward to support this sensible, bipartisan package, I strongly urge Leader McConnell to put it on the floor without delay. If he does, it is virtually certain that it would pass.

“The longer we wait to pass this bill, the longer the American people will have to wait for relief from the premium increases the President’s sabotage has caused. There is no reason to wait, we should move this bill now.”
