Sen. Schumer Statement On Judge Barrett's Refusal To Say Medicare Is Constitutional

Brooklyn, N.Y. — Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today released the following statement in response to Judge Barrett’s failure to say Medicare is constitutional:

“Judge Barrett’s answers are getting increasingly scary as we move through the hearing.  We already knew that Justice Barrett would undercut the ACA, but now she’s refusing to say that even Medicare is constitutional. Medicare is absolutely critical to the health and financial wellbeing of approximately 65 million American seniors.”
