Reid Statement On House Vote To Strengthen Economy

Washington, DC—Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made the following statement today after the House of Representatives passed an economic stimulus package:

“I am pleased the House has acted quickly to pass an economic stimulus plan.  The Senate will continue working without delay and in a bipartisan fashion to see if we can improve on this product.  While Senate Democrats and Republicans alike have many good ideas for strengthening our economy, I remain confident that we will meet our goal of passing and sending the President a package by mid-February that is timely, temporary and targeted – and that provides working Americans and seniors the relief they deserve.”
